Crystal Pier Extended Family Portraits | San Diego Family Photography

Pacific Beach really showed off for this extended family session! We met at Crystal Pier and ended up with the prettiest sunset, with that warm evening light reflecting off the water and the pier giving us such a classic San Diego backdrop. Extended family sessions always have a little bit of everything happening, so we made sure to get everyone together and then broke off into the smaller family groups while leaving plenty of room for the candid stuff in between. The beach makes that part easy because nobody has to just stand around waiting for their turn. Kids can play, grandparents can love on their grandbabies, and I can keep photographing while everyone is just hanging out together.

Crystal Pier is such a great location if you're planning extended family photos in San Diego, especially if you're visiting and staying around Pacific Beach. You get the ocean, plenty of open sand, and one of the most recognizable spots in PB all in one session. And when San Diego decides to throw in a sunset like this one, even better! If your whole family is finally going to be together for a vacation or reunion, take advantage of it. Getting that many schedules to line up again might be harder than getting everyone to smile for one photo, and you'll get to take home something way better than another vacation souvenir.
