Senior photos should feel like YOU, and this Sunset Cliffs session absolutely did! Iris brought her dogs along for a few photos, which I will pretty much always encourage, and then her bestie jumped in for some too. I love adding those little pieces of real life into senior sessions because this year is about so much more than graduating. Your pets, your friendships, and the people you spend all your time with are such a huge part of this season too. Plus, taking a break from being the only person in front of the camera usually helps everyone loosen up and makes the rest of the session even more fun.

Sunset Cliffs was the perfect backdrop for it all. We had the gorgeous San Diego coastline, plenty of room to move around, and that pretty evening light that makes this area such a favorite for senior portraits. If you’re planning your own San Diego senior photos, don’t feel like you have to show up alone with a couple of outfits and call it a day. Bring your dog! Have your best friend meet us for part of it! Senior pictures are basically a time capsule of who you are right now, so including the ones you love makes them that much better.
