This hidden photoshoot location feels like you're in the mountains!

I love finding locations that make people say, "Wait... this is in San Diego?!" Presidio Park is one of those places. Tucked just above Old Town, the trails are lined with tall pine trees and somehow feel more like you're hiking in the mountains than standing a few minutes from downtown. It's one of those spots that flies under the radar, so it’s never too busy!

This sweet mini session was with the cutest little girl in the most adorable dress, and she absolutely fit the setting. We wandered the trails & collected a few pinecones along the way. Those are always my favorite sessions. Kids don't need much direction when they're having fun, and that's when the real smiles happen!

Another reason I love Presidio Park is how easy it is. Parking is usually a breeze, it never feels packed, and you don't have dozens of people watching while you're trying to relax in front of the camera. It's perfect if you love the look of nature but don't want to make the drive out to the mountains, and it has such a peaceful feel without leaving San Diego.

If you've been looking for something a little different than the beach or one of the more popular parks, don't overlook this hidden little gem. It's beautiful year-round, wonderfully quiet, and one of my favorite places when families want a unique photoshoot location in San Diego!
