Haley and her family were visiting San Diego from Texas last month, so they decided it was the perfect time to take Haley’s senior portraits! They opted for the Ultimate Session package, so we split their shoot into two locations. Our first location was the trails at Marian Bear Park, and it was beautiful!
The first of many rose garden mini sessions is here! This is a highly anticipated post, as I’m absolutely obsessed with this location & so pleased with these images!
First up is Addie’s maternity session! Addie is a friend of mine who I’ve known for over a decade now! Her sister & I are very close friends, and Addie is one of those people who I’m randomly connected to via like, 10 different people, so our paths were bound to cross at some point!
She’s expecting her THIRD little one next month, so I’m so happy we could meet up at the Inez Grant Parker Memorial Rose Garden in Balboa Park for her maternity photo shoot before he arrives!
If you LOVE these images, I do have a couple openings for this same location this coming Sunday 7/7 for a limited edition mini session. Don’t hesitate to contact me for details & to book!

I really really love when families book me for extended family portrait sessions! It’s so special for me to capture the relationship & bond between generations, and it’s one of my favorite types of shoots to do!
The Yan Family chose Balboa Park as their backdrop for their large family portraits! We had 3 generations present & were celebrating grandma & grandpa’s anniversary! We started near the Prado Restaurant & worked our way around some of the more “hidden” spots of the park. The two kiddos were absolutely adorable & they both did so well during our shoot!

The first time I photographed these kids, they were still in their mama’s tummy! I’ve photographed them twice yearly since (their birthday portraits in the spring & their family portraits in the fall!) and it’s always SO much fun. Lots of giggles, smiles, funny noises, and silly games. Liberty Station in Point Loma is one of my favorite spots & provided a perfect backdrop for their 6th birthday portraits!
One of my least favorite emails to receive is one I sadly receive a lot here in San Diego. “KATE! We are moving!! We want to squeeze in one more shoot with you before we go!” Cue the tears! I get so close with my families… in this case I’m pretty sure I’ve been photographing them for close to EIGHT years. They’re following an awesome job opportunity to the Bay area, so I can’t blame them, but dang I’m bummed! We decided to hit up Old Poway Park, one of our favorite spots, for our last (for now!) shoot together.
