San Diego Mini Sessions | Cotton Candy Mini Sessions

I looooove when an idea pops in my head & it all actually comes together! I had the idea for these mini sessions last year but struggled with the logistics. I LOVE cotton candy, but I couldn’t find a cute machine to make it. THEN I saw a popcorn machine on Amazon and realized if I left the top glass part off, spray painted over the red to be pink, and used my Cricut to make a cute Cotton Candy logo, it would be perfect! So last summer I did the model session and I was so excited. I hired a local company to make enough cotton candy for the cart & the kids. I got to the shoot, set everything up, and it looked AMAZING.

Fast forward literally no longer than 10 minutes and the cotton candy had melted into a gooey, sticky, not-so-cute disaster. Luckily, the model kiddos rolled with it and we got some amazing shots, but I knew I had to fix something for the final shoot! One of my good friends suggested making fake cotton candy. AND THEN SHE DID IT FOR ME! And it worked PERFECTLY! I just bought some individually packaged REAL cotton candy for the kids to eat, but the cotton candy on the cart was totally fake. The shots still look absolutely amazing though, and nobody could tell until they were up close.
