Amy & Oliver met with me at Old Poway Park on Saturday for their session! Little Oliver is about to turn one, so Amy wanted most of the session to be of him, however she jumped in a few to celebrate Mother’s Day. This kid has the most beautiful blue eyes I have ever seen!! Old Poway Park is such a fun spot for little boys… it has a few old trains, train tracks, and lots of open grass areas for them to run around in!! This day was a bit crazy at the park; with Poway High School’s Prom being on the same day, there were about three dozen high schoolers dressed all fancy taking photos as well as a wedding going on at the same time! I love the challenge of on-location photography & we definitely made it work!!

There is nothing more rewarding than a referral from another client! Christine & her family met me this past weekend because they were referred to me by a family I adore very much!! Even though the session theme was Mother’s Day, I love that Dad came along & I couldn’t help but throw him in a few shots! These kiddos were super cooperative (and way adorable!) and loved all my silly bathroom words & jokes (how come the mention of “fart” will produce a smile about 99.9% of the time?!). It’s not glamorous but I do what I need to do to get a genuine smile, that’s for sure!!! These guys didn’t need much help though; they did great!!

Spring Mini Sessions have been going fabulously!! I got to see these guys again which was super fun!! Love the energy this family has & I remember them well from their last session! These kids are so sweet & fun-loving; I never have to try hard to get a smile out of them, which always makes my life easier!! I just love Springtime so I’m having so much fun with these props!!

Spring is here!! That means more & more spring mini sessions will be coming to the blog! Next week will be crazy… two dozen mini sessions in one week!! I’m looking forward to it though… they have been REALLY cute so far!!

Check out these kids… this is my fourth time photographing them & even though they moved to Las Vegas, I’m so happy they STILL contact me when they’re in town for their photos!! I’ll have to make a trip out to them next time… tax deductible trip to Vegas? Alright, if you force me. ;)

The lovely Miss Hanna has graced the blog before & she was the first kiddo to participate in 2012′s Spring Mini Sessions! We met up in Balboa Park at the Spanish Pavilion for some colorful backdrops & spring-y spots to shoot! I brought along some plastic Easter eggs and she brought Jellybean (the bunny) which made for such a fun session! This session was pretty unique in that Hanna’s mom really wanted photos ASAP to show off her one missing tooth in the front of her adorable smile! As it turns out, the second of her front teeth was barely hanging on when we started shooting (leading to some funny, hillbilly-type outtake shots!) and with a little encouragement from mom & dad, Hanna popped out the second tooth about halfway through her session!! Whatta trooper!! I know I lost my teeth as a kid, but there’s something about yanking a tooth out that gives me the heeby jeebies a little bit!! Hanna did great though & showed off her super adorable gap for the last part of the day!! So cute!!

Janene & Saraya are some of my favorite ladies to hang out with! :) I met Saraya when she was just a week or two old for her newborn photos & it was so fun to see her again at 1 and a half! She’s definitely changed a bit but is just as cute as I remember!! Plus, her mom bought some really fun Valentine themed balloons (while they lasted… note to self, don’t tie balloons on a chair on a windy day unless you tie them really tight). Also, she’s one of the only sessions my outdoor backdrop stand worked for (Santa Anas aren’t the best for natural light, outdoor photography). I’ve been following Janene’s blog for awhile; go check it out, she always posts the coolest stuff!! (Whimspiration) And I just started following her on Pinterest too (um, can we say, most addicting website EVER?)! I love keeping in touch with clients & seeing what you guys are all up to… always feel free to add me on Facebook! Add me here!

It was so great to meet this little guy on Friday!! His mom & dad took engagement photos with me a reeeeally long time ago, back when I was first starting out!! He’s a bundle of energy for sure & I think he had a lot of fun at his session!!!

Here’s another little cutie from this weekend’s Valentine’s Day themed mini sessions at Old Poway Park. I first met little Connor at 6 months old & he’s always such a sweetheart!! He wasn’t feeling so great at his session, but considering he was sick, he did great!! All we needed to do was figure out what made him happy (heart balloon and train cars for the win!) and he was such a joy!! He also got to show off his brand new bike that he got for his birthday!!

I met these cuties at Old Poway Park this weekend for a fun, Valentine’s Day themed shoot! Expect a lot of these sessions in the next couple of days… I offered some Valentine themed mini sessions this year & I don’t know why I haven’t done these before!! They all came out so freaking adorable!! Makes me want to do these for Easter too… hm….

Check out how cute these kiddos are!!
